Nintendo of America Rep Says Amiibo First Wave Figures Won’t Be Discontinued, More Stock Arriving Soon

Thank god, my collect dream was about to die.

My Nintendo News

A Nintendo of America representative has reportedly debunked rumours after reports came filtering in that select Nintendo Amiibo models – such as Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager – would be discontinued. In a bid to quash those statements, NoA’s assistant PR manager David Young has sent notification to fans saying that Nintendo will not be discontinuing these figures and that more are on the way.

Amiibo are fast becoming popular in the US and UK gaming markets with GAME UK hiking up the price and Amazon saying they are currently in short supply. Whether or not this is the case of Nintendo underestimating demand during the Christmas season, or if it’s the case of retailers pulling stock back for select models is not yet known. Though not official confirmation from Nintendo of America itself, David Young’s email has been passed around social media, which you can see below.

Sakurai Says He Might Be Done With Super Smash Bros

Sakurai deserves to retire.

My Nintendo News

Super Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has once again claimed that he might be done with the Super Smash Bros franchise. Sakurai believes that he has delivered all he could in the well-received Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions of the game and is not sure how he could improve on them. Here’s what he had to say.

“I can’t positively declare there won’t be [another Smash Bros. game]. With both Melee and Brawl, I made those games with the thought that there wouldn’t be any more sequels. Thus, I really can’t deny the chance for another.

“However, as for myself, I don’t think there will be.”

“Our intention [with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U] was to provide extra merits to the game which go far beyond the sale price,” he said. “In terms of scope, and in terms of sheer number of characters, we went beyond our limits long…

Sonic’s future “uncertain”

Excuse me for making this my first post on my site, but I feel like this needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

Sonic the hedgehog, famous for battling against Nintendo’s Super Mario in the 90’s and SEGA’s current flagship mascot, is once again facing a new dark age within his video game career. A poll from TSSZ (The Sonic Speed Zone) asked people if Sonic Team (The developers behind Sonic’s games) would be affected by the “fiasco” that is Sonic Boom.

Surprisingly, the majority of the tallies counted were Yes by 40%, while 33% voted No, and 27% voted Not Sure. Although the votes for Yes and No may have changed throughout the weeks provided due to the fact that the poll allowed you to have multiple responses, the recent reviews, and the endless amount of factors such as the infinite jump glitch. However as it stands, this poll is the largest impact that the sonic community has seen in a while, and some like this user (Whom goes by the name MM2) have lost trust in the brand completely.

“You seem awfully forgiving. A lot of my friends have outright jumped ship entirely, and me with them.

It’s rentals from here on out.”

Although Sonic Boom game is a Spin-off, it seems the brand doing a “speedy” job of alienating users from Sonic in it’s state. In fact, the demand for Sonic Games due to the mess of Sonic Boom are lower than ever, with some trade values ranging from a dollar to less, and some stores such as Walmart have dropped their prices down to 20$ for Sonic Boom.

For the rest of sonic fans, it seems likely that this might be the final ambition for sonic’s games, and they might never sell again.
